CO2 Manufacturer Expanding to New York

EPCO Carbon Dioxide Products Inc., a producer of food- and beverage-grade liquid carbon dioxide, will build a carbon dioxide production facility in Shelby, New York. The $6.28 million plant, which will create at least 20 new jobs at an average salary of $70,000 per year, is being constructed adjacent to an existing ethanol plant that recently began operations; carbon dioxide is a natural by-product of ethanol production. The Louisiana-based company will receive a $75,000 grant from New York State as part of the deal. EPCO supplies carbon dioxide to food processors, soda and beer bottlers, and dry ice manufacturers.
