Southwire Expands Starkville, Mississippi, Manufacturing Operations

Wire and cable manufacturer Southwire plans to expand its operations in Starkville, Mississippi. The more than $256 million project is expected to create 128 jobs.

The investment will include an additional roughly 380,000 square feet at the company’s existing manufacturing facility to support growing demand driven by electrification and the expansion of data centers.

This expansion in Starkville is an important part of that effort, connecting to our more than two-billion-dollar investment in modernization and helping us build the capacity needed to meet the growing demand driven by electrification, market growth and the rapid expansion of data centers. It is an exciting time for our industry, for Southwire and for our team in Starkville as we continue strengthening our ability to support growth across North America and best serve our customers,” said Rohan Kelkar, Executive Vice President, Power and Industrial at Southwire.

Southwire is a manufacturer of wire and cable products and electrical solutions serving utility, residential, commercial, industrial, and original equipment manufacturer markets. The company and its subsidiaries provide building wire and cable, metal-clad cable, utility products, portable and electronic cord products, OEM wire products, electrical products, engineered solutions, and field support services.
