Becton, Dickinson Creating 296 Jobs in San Antonio, Texas

Becton, Dickinson, a global medical technology company, has chosen San Antonio, Texas for its North American professional services headquarters. The decision will bring 296 new jobs to the city and $6.4 million in capital investment.

"San Antonio met all of the criteria that we were seeking in order to meet our business requirements," said Edward J. Ludwig, BD chairman and CEO. "The excellent pool of potential employees and skilled labor, along with proximity to academic institutions, were significant draws, as well as the support we received from state and local officials. BD looks forward to becoming a good neighbor and a valued corporate citizen in this community, as we are in the other communities in which we operate around the world."

BD is based in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, and develops, manufactures, and sells medical devices, instrument systems, and reagents. Its San Antonio location will house finance, procurement, human resources, supply chain, and customer services sectors.
