08/21/2012
"Our new facility will support our continued growth plans while offering more convenience for our employees, partners and customers," said Bill Standish, Executive Vice President Operations at Anixter. "The new facility helps to improve operational efficiency by bringing together employees to one centralized corporate campus." The firm said its expansion at Glenview's Prairie Glen Corporate Campus, 2301 Patriot Boulevard, will create and retain about 125 jobs.
As an incentive the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity said Anixter qualified for the state's targeted investment package, estimated at $2 million, which includes a decade of tax credits based on job creation. Incentives also include a training grant through the Employer Training Investment Program. The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity said the incentives will create 66 new jobs and retain 60 jobs." Anixter expects to have occupancy beginning in April of 2013. It's headquarters is located within the village's Tax Increment Financing district making it eligible for tax credits. In accordance with Anixter's corporate sustainability philosophy, the firm said it will work toward LEED certification at the completion of its construction.
