Hyundai Supplier Expanding in Alabama

MOBIS Alabama, a Tier-One supplier to Hyundai Motors, will expand its existing plant in Montgomery in a $55.6 million project that is expected to create more than 140 new jobs. According to Alabama state officials, the company will create a new paint facility, as well as expand its redistribution center and plastic injection facility. The new operations will serve Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama and a Kia Motors facility being built in nearby Georgia (Kia is a subsidiary of Hyundai). Construction is scheduled to begin net month on the 130,000-square-foot expansion of the redistribution center, at the same time as an 80,000-square-foot new building is contructed. MOBIS Alabama is the largest Tier-One supplier to Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama.
