First Quality Baby Products Plans $200M Expansion in Macon, Georgia

08/23/2010
First Quality Baby Products, a Great Neck, New York, company that produces baby diapers and other hygiene items, is expanding its Macon, Georgia, manufacturing operations. The company will invest up to $200 million and bring work force levels to 375 total employees.

"The strength of our existing work force, as well as our confidence in the pool of skilled labor, contributed to the decision for First Quality to commit to Macon-Bibb County," said company Director of Manufacturing Bob Schiek. "As important, however, is the pro-business environment that you have created here in Georgia, especially in Macon-Bibb County."

First Quality will build a new diaper manufacturing facility beginning the fourth quarter of 2010. The expanded facility will serve the Southeast market.
