Logistics Firm Opening Distribution Center in Indiana

08/05/2008
Cross Road Centers, a provider of third-party logistics, will locate a new 600,000-square-foot distribution center in Plainfield, Indiana. The Louisiana-based company will invest more than $6.7 million in the project, which will create at least 30 new jobs. Hiring will begin immediately for managers, materials handlers, auditors, and customer service associates. "The bedrock of our business model is successful partnership," says Robert Gadola, an executive with Cross Road Centers. "We feel we have an excellent partnership in place through the tremendous cooperation we have received at both the state and local levels." Incentives offered to the company include $155,000 in performance-based tax credits and $25,000 in training grants from the state, along with property tax abatement and recruiting assistance at the local level. The center is expected to open during the fourth quarter of this year.
