The Manufacturing Institute and Deloitte: Made In America? What the public thinks about manufacturing today
In its Labor Day survey, the Manufacturing Institute and Deloitte find that Americans say manufacturing can succeed - but the necessary policies and leadership aren't in place.
9/3/2010
The labor force was a bright spot for those surveyed, who said the strength of the work force was one of the most important factors to U.S. manufacturing success.
Simultaneously, Americans worried about government policies and leadership in the manufacturing sector. Overall, those surveyed were confident the U.S. could create economic success through manufacturing, but they don't see the leadership and policies required to keep manufacturing healthy in the long-term.
