Abby Manufacturing Expands Walnut, Mississippi, Operations
11/15/2018
The company’s latest expansion accommodates its rapid growth, which has resulted in increased production. In April, Abby Manufacturing announced the addition of a new laser cutting machine and press brake at the Walnut location, a $324,000 investment that created 10 jobs. Abby Manufacturing uses the latest cutting-edge technology to produce its products for agriculture, construction, transportation and military industries worldwide.
“This is certainly an exciting time to be in manufacturing. Opportunities abound for the company that is agile, well positioned and operates with a clear market vision. Governor Bryant and Mississippi Development Authority Director Glenn McCullough are giving companies the tools required to ensure that Mississippi receives its share of the jobs that continue to return from offshore,” said Donn Owen, Abby Manufacturing general manager. “Abby Manufacturing is proud to partner with local and state leaders to bring these jobs to North Mississippi. It gives us the opportunity to further invest in people, which we believe are the heart of any great organization.”
Mississippi Development Authority is providing assistance with equipment relocation. “Abby Manufacturing’s second expansion in North Mississippi in less than a year is evidence of a strong economy and supportive business climate, both of which encourage Mississippi’s existing businesses to grow and create new jobs in our state,” Governor Phil Bryant said.
“For more than two decades, Abby Manufacturing has demonstrated its commitment to doing business in our state through new capital investment creating more careers, which build more vibrant communities with economic opportunity for the people of North Mississippi,” said MDA Executive Director Glenn McCullough, Jr. “MDA once again is proud to support Abby Manufacturing as it grows its Tippah County operations, demonstrating to the world Mississippi is a great place to be.”
Founded in 1994 in Walnut, Abby Manufacturing also has operations in Ashland and New Albany, Mississippi, employing approximately 175 workers throughout its three locations. The company expects to fill the 10 new jobs by mid-2019.
