Reynolds Consumer Products Expands Temple, Texas, Plant

03/22/2018
Reynolds Consumer Products will make a $3.2 million capital investment to expand its manufacturing center in Temple, Texas. The company’s investment will purchase equipment for a new plastic film production line at 3000 Pegasus Drive as well as create 10 new positions.

The Temple facility opened in 1970, manufacturing the Hefty brand which is most commonly identified with the brand’s famous waste bags. Reynolds Consumer Products was established in 2010 when two of the most trusted household brands, Reynolds and Hefty, joined together.

Rick Villa, plant manager at the Temple facility, said, “The Temple Economic Development Corporation has been a terrific partner in this process. Community support and the availability of a reliable, skilled workforce are a key component in investing in any expansion. Our brand is known for quality and reliability and the people behind it make that possible. We’re pleased to be able to grow right here in Temple.”

The Temple Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors recently approved an Economic Development agreement that includes a cash grant.

“We are pleased and proud to have Reynolds Consumer Products as an important member of the Temple business and manufacturing community,” said Charley Ayres, Temple EDC Vice President.

“New business moving to Temple is always exciting to celebrate but supporting our existing businesses and enabling their growth is a crucial component of effective economic development efforts. This expansion is welcome news, Reynolds employs almost 300 citizens of our community, we’re excited that the Temple facility was chosen to invest in and increase employment,” he added.
