Hormel Foods plans expansion at Nebraska Spam plant

Company spokeswoman Julie Craven told the Fremont Tribune the project will increase production capacity for the Spam family of products.
Hormel will begin construction of the plant addition this summer. It will take about a year to complete. The company bought the Fremont facility in 1947, and has made additions to it over the years.
Hormel officials would not release further information about the expansion, including whether or not it would create more jobs.
Based in Austin, MN, Hormel Foods Corporation is a multinational manufacturer and marketer of consumer-branded food and meat products.
