12/01/2020
The company plans to purchase four pieces of capital intensive equipment that will create three new, full-time jobs at the facility.
“As a company, one of our guiding principles has been to embrace new technology to reinforce our commitment to consistent quality in the manufacturing of customized, hand-finished, high-quality, solid woods into architectural millwork and cabinets,” said owner Ryan Schaad.
The company plans to invest over $150,000 to achieve growth goals for its products outside of the state of Ohio in both residential and commercial markets, according to Schaad. “Our goal is to automate manual production steps while increasing capacity without sacrificing quality,” he added.
A JobsOhio Inclusion Grant of $50,000 obtained through JobsOhio’s regional partner, OhioSE, will support the machinery and equipment investment. The JobsOhio Inclusion Grant exists to provide financial support for eligible projects in designated distressed communities and/or for businesses owned by underrepresented populations across the state.
“Schaad and Sons is an excellent entrepreneurial success story for Southern Ohio,” said OhioSE President Mike Jacoby. “Ryan and his wife Jessica have much to be proud of and have set the bar high for their industry. We and our partners at JobsOhio welcome the company’s continued growth in service and impact in Morgan County.”
“When I learned of the Inclusion Grant program from our JobsOhio – OhioSE representative Tom Poorman, Tom and I quickly agreed the program could possibly assist Ryan’s business given our meetings, discussions, and tours we have had over the past few years regarding Schaad and Sons plans and forecasts relating to expansion”, stated Carl Raines, Executive Director of the Morgan County Improvement Corporation.
