Dow AgroSciences Building Seeds Facility in West Lafayette, Indiana

03/08/2011
Dow AgroSciences has selected West Lafayette, Indiana, as the site of its Seed Quality Control Lab. The company will relocate existing operations to a larger site in the city.

Located in the Purdue Research Park, the lab will support Dow's expanding AgroSciences Seeds business and help the company develop next-generation technologies. The new facility will allow for additional testing technologies, future expansions, and collaboration with scientists at Dow AgroSciences' Indianapolis headquarters.

Dow will offer all current quality control lab workers in Marshalltown, Iowa, the opportunity to work at the new Indiana lab. The company expects to complete the relocation in the first quarter of 2012.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation has extended a $2.2 million grant to the Purdue Research Foundation to help Dow build a new, 11,000-square-foot greenhouse at the site. The company will also build a 15,000-square-foot R&D space.
