ID Agent Relocates Headquarters to Bowie, Maryland
04/06/2018
According to state economic development officials, the company relocated from Washington, D.C. and selected a 3,000 square-foot space that it plans to expand within the next two months.
After operating for 14 years as part of Winvale, located in Washington, D.C., ID Agent strategically moved to Maryland for its direct access to a specialized and talented workforce, affordable cost of living, and central location. ID Agent has applied for the state’s Job Creation Tax Credit, administered by the Maryland Department of Commerce.
“This move made critical sense to our growth plan and recruitment efforts. There are thousands of commuters who travel along Route 50, and we can attract the best of the best of those seeking a 20- minute drive, as opposed to an hour on a good day,” said Kevin Lancaster, chief executive officer. “Maryland is a great place to be, especially when it comes to cybersecurity.”
“We are pleased to welcome ID Agent to the cyber capital of the nation,” said Governor Larry Hogan. “With a strong cybersecurity industry supported by 115,000 technology warriors and an array of business-friendly tax credits and programs, our administration continues to ensure that companies have the resources they need to grow and thrive in Maryland.”
“Prince George’s County is proud to welcome ID Agent to its growing cyber security community,” said Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker. “Their decision to place their headquarters in the strategically located Melford Business Park allows them to connect with a talented local workforce and benefit from competitive pricing, while maintaining proximity to Washington D.C., the University of Maryland, the National Security Agency, and critical linkages.”
“ID Agent’s security solutions are critical to the 21st century and can protect millions of those threatened by identity and data theft,” said Maryland Commerce Secretary Mike Gill. “We are excited that they chose Maryland for our talented technology workforce, as well as our strategic location and critical mass of cyber assets and resources.”
