Hhgregg Plans on Hiring 600 Workers in FL by Summer
05/10/2011
In preparation for the appliance and electronics retailers push into the region, work crews have been retrofitting nine South Florida and one Treasure Coast facilities, according to the South Florida Business Journal.
The business newspaper reported the chain's entry into South Florida in October 2010, when Hhgregg signed a 10-year lease in Hialeah. That was followed by five additional leases signed in January for square footage in Wellington, Fort Lauderdale, Plantation, Pinecrest and West Palm Beach; then a five-year lease signed in February for a 66,095 sq.-ft. regional distribution center at Seneca in Pembroke Park.
"As we expand operations in southeastern Florida by entering the Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties, now is an exciting time to join the hhgregg team," said President and CEO Dennis L. May.
Hhgregg currently operates 173 stores in 15 states.
