Germany-Based Reinhausen Expands Humboldt, Tennessee, Production Operations

05/16/2026
Voltage regulation and grid technology manufacturer Reinhausen Inc. plans to expand its operations in Humboldt, Tennessee. The $6.7 million project is expected to create 90 jobs in Gibson County.

The investment at the company’s existing production facility will support growing demand for advanced transformer production, voltage regulation systems, and grid-automation technologies.

“Tennessee has been the heart of Reinhausen’s U.S. operations since 1987, and Humboldt has been our home for nearly that entire time,” said Bob Vary, CEO of Reinhausen Inc. “This new investment is about the future, strengthening America’s grid, supporting our customers’ growth and reinforcing Reinhausen’s position as a global leader in voltage regulation and grid technology.”

Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen is a manufacturer of electrical grid equipment and transformer control systems for power transmission and distribution networks, producing on-load tap changers, monitoring systems, and related power infrastructure technologies. The company’s operations include engineering, manufacturing, and servicing of equipment used by utilities and industrial customers.

“Tennessee, especially West Tennessee, continues to lead in energy infrastructure manufacturing,” noted Deputy Governor and TNECD Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter. “Reinhausen has been part of this state for decades, and their continued investment is driving lasting growth.”
