Maxim Crane Works Expands Wilder, Kentucky, Operations Complex
06/30/2017
According to the state’s Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, Maxim has operated a regional headquarters in Wilder since 1937. It is also where the company bases about 400 cranes for quick deployment to customers across the Eastern US.
Maxim’s growth projections, including organic and acquisitions, prompted plans to consolidate its operations and regional leadership roles into Campbell County with the construction of a 17,000-square-foot office, state officials explained. The new building on its Wilder campus will house executive and administrative staff and is scheduled to open late this year.
“Maxim Crane and the legacy brand of Carlisle Enterprises has been based out of the Northern Kentucky area since 1937. The prior and current ownership group of Maxim had the vision to acquire the property necessary to facilitate our growth strategy for the next 100 years,” said Bryan Carlisle, CEO of Maxim.
“This is a great day for Maxim, our employees and the state. We certainly appreciate the efforts and results that the Governor and his team have dedicated to our project and we look forward to great future for all parties involved,” he added.
To encourage the investment and job growth in the community, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) in March preliminarily approved the company for tax incentives up to $2 million through the Kentucky Business Investment program. The performance-based incentive allows a company to keep a portion of its investment over the agreement term through corporate income tax credits and wage assessments by meeting job and investment targets. In addition, Maxim can receive resources from the Kentucky Skills Network.
Maxim COO Frank Bardonaro said, “We appreciate the effort that state and local governments have dedicated to facilitating growth in the Northern Kentucky area. Our ability to centralize our leadership team for service, safety, operations and logistics will ensure our customers and our employees that Maxim has the ability to continue our successful growth strategy for decades to come.”
“Maxim Crane Works is integrally involved in constructing our nation’s infrastructure, skylines, factories and amenities. They are also busy building on their own success here in the commonwealth,” Governor Matt Bevin said. “Kentucky is an attractive choice for corporate investment, thanks to recent improvements we’ve made to our business climate, a high quality of life and our gateway location between the Midwest and South. We are grateful for Maxim’s decision to grow in Kentucky and I look forward to the company’s success in the years ahead.”
