Barco Expands Operations in Gwinnett County, Georgia
08/27/2019
Headquartered in Belgium, Barco technology is focused on three core markets: enterprise (from meeting and control rooms to corporate spaces), healthcare (from the radiology department to the operating room) and entertainment (from movie theaters to live events and attractions). The company’s American headquarters is located in Gwinnett, and they have additional facilities across the region.
“After a period of thorough research, we chose Atlanta to be our headquarters for the Americas. The combination of infrastructure, qualified labor and business environment makes Atlanta a unique place to run our operations,” said Ney Corsino, President of Barco Americas. “Besides being close to our markets, this consolidation allows us to achieve higher levels of synergy towards customer satisfaction.”
This investment by Barco is meant to upgrade its work space, attract new talent and extend service capabilities to its facility in Gwinnett. The company will add 50 new jobs to their current workforce of 140 at the location.
“Our existing industries are a fundamental part of the backbone of our economic success in Georgia,” said GDEcD Commissioner Pat Wilson. “Because of our highly-skilled workforce and unmatched universities and technical colleges, our state has become a hub for the tech industry. Barco’s expansion certainly serves as a testament to that success, and we are excited to watch their continued growth in the coming years.”
“Gwinnett’s diverse economy continues to be a draw for international leaders like Barco,” said Gwinnett County Commission Chair Charlotte Nash. “We are always happy to see an existing company expanding and reinvesting in Gwinnett. It’s a true testament to the strength of our business community.”
“Congratulations to Barco on the expansion of their U.S. headquarters in Gwinnett County,” said Hala Moddelmog, President & CEO of the Metro Atlanta Chamber. “Their continued investment in metro Atlanta will support some of our region’s leading-edge industry sectors, like entertainment and health IT, and strengthen our reputation as a global competitor.”
