Teledyne Opens New $4 Million Oil & Gas Technology Center In Daytona Beach, Florida
10/16/2013
The new technology center will be located in a 50,000-square-foot industrial building adjacent to Teledyne’s current facility on Willamson Boulevard. Together, the complex will cover 150,000 square feet.
Gov. Rick Scott said, “Teledyne already employs more than 400 families in Daytona Beach and it is great news that the company decided to continue to expand in Florida and create more than 100 new jobs. Because we fought hard this year to remove the tax on manufacturing equipment, Florida businesses like Teledyne can continue to expand and create jobs and opportunities for families.”
“We are thrilled that Teledyne Oil and Gas has chosen to expand their corporate headquarters in Florida,” said Secretary of Commerce Gray Swoope, who also serves as President & CEO of Enterprise Florida. “Florida’s financial and professional sector continues to grow and businesses know they can be successful here thanks to our low corporate tax burden, strong workforce and modern infrastructure.”
The City of Daytona Beach worked with Volusia County Government and Enterprise Florida in assisting Teledyne with its expansion plans. “Daytona Beach is proud Teledyne elected to expand its operations here,” said Emory Counts, the city’s Economic Development Director, as the expansion neared completion. “The company is an important corporate and community partner, he said.
“We are pleased to see Teledyne expand in Volusia County,” said Rob Ehrhardt, Volusia County Economic Development Manager, in an earlier press release. “It is further proof that world class manufacturing occurs here. It is a particular point of pride that its products and technology are helping clients across the nation and around the world.”
