NK Newlook Will Create Over 200 Jobs at New Facility in SC

10/20/2011
NK Newlook has announced it will locate a new manufacturing and distribution facility in Barnwell County, SC, with a $5 million investment expected to generate 212 new jobs. The company will establish the operation in a building previously occupied by Allied Air in the town of Blackville. Hiring for the positions begins next month.

Headquartered in Miami, FL, NK Newlook designs and produces product display cases and retail store fixtures for a wide range of clients. It was founded in 1999.

"We are excited to locate our new facility in Barnwell County," said Bob Nottin, president of NK Newlook. "South Carolina offered us an excellent business climate, and a talented and available workforce."

The South Carolina Department of Commerce gave the firm a $200,000 Rural Infrastructure Fund grant, and approved it for training funds. One of the reasons NK Newlook chose South Carolina is because of the state's workforce training programs. Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt said those training programs have been recognized nationally, "and this announcement shows they play an important role in recruiting companies here."
