11/28/2011
Streit officials said they will move their existing operations from a leased building to a new facility to be built in the Palmetto Commerce Park. The move will allow the company to add four new production lines, greatly increase its output, and more than double the manufacturing space to 75,000 square feet.
Proximity to the Port of Charleston was an important l factor when Streit decided to locate its operations in the area. The company will continue to import parts and export finished products through this port.
Hiring for the new positions begins summer 2012. The firm will use the state's ReadySC program to help with with the hiring process.
