12/16/2010
The company is investing $190 million in the project and is awaiting approval of incentives from local and state entities.
The project is part of a company-wide restructuring that began in 2004 and is expected to end next year. Electrolux invested more than $1.2 billion in the restructuring and anticipates a nearly $500 million annual savings beginning in 2013.
Electrolux expects to begin production in Memphis by the middle of 2012. The facility will be fully operational in 2013.
As part of the consolidation, the company will shutter its facility in l'Assomption, Quebec, Canada.
