Genie Recon Expands Springfield, Missouri, Operations

Advanced remanufacturer Genie Recon plans to expand its operations in Springfield, Missouri. The $11.5 million project is expected to create 243 jobs.

The investment at the company’s existing facility will increase production capacity for remanufactured Genie telescopic boom lifts while adding new capabilities to remanufacture electronic and hydraulic systems.

“Our repeatable processes produce quality products, and keeping up with growing demand requires maintaining that discipline as we scale,” said Chris Merrifield, President of Genie Recon. “Our expansion plans represent a long-term investment in both capability and careers. We are investing in people—those with experience and those eager to learn, as we continue to build workforce development opportunities here in Springfield.”

The project is supported by the Missouri Works Program and is estimated to receive $1,422,467 in incentives, subject to verification of program requirements.

Genie Recon is a defense technology company that develops artificial intelligence software for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and mission planning applications. The company specializes in AI software development, geospatial analytics, computer vision, and decision-support tools for defense and national security customers.
