ECOtality Chooses San Francisco for Corporate HQ

ECOtality, a provider of clean electric transportation and storage technologies, will locate its corporate headquarters in San Francisco, California.

The company was drawn to the Bay Area for its strong electric vehicle cluster. California is expected to become one of the country's biggest electric vehicle markets. ECOtality plans to use regional partnerships and talent to build its networking and software division. The state of California also has favorable incentives for renewable energy companies.

The company will retain offices in San Diego; Seattle; Portland, Oregon; Los Angeles; and Tennessee. It will also hold onto a shared services operation in Tempe, Arizona and a site in Phoenix, Arizona.
