DG Foods Creating 317 Jobs in Bastrop, Louisiana
12/13/2010
"DG Foods, LLC is very excited about the opportunity to expand our company to a facility in Bastrop, Louisiana," said DG Foods CEO Duffy McKenzie. "Bastrop is a strategic location which will allow us to serve customers in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and others which are located west of the Mississippi location."
Louisiana Economic Development (LED) has extended DG Foods an incentives package including customized work force training from LED FastStart and a $700,000 performance-based loan from LED's Rapid Response fund. It has also offered a performance-based, forgivable loan of $2.85 million for building improvements from LED's Economic Development Loan Opportunity Program.
DG Foods will use the Enterprise Zone and Industrial Tax Exemption Programs. And the city of Bastrop has offered DG Foods assistance through the Community Development Block Grant program towards infrastructure.
The company will occupy an existing 88,000-square-foot facility that will be fully operational by July 2011.
