American Fast Freight To Open 6,000 Square Foot Terminal In Kodiak, Alaska
04/08/2014
Located 2 miles from the Port of Kodiak, The American Fast Freight Kodiak Terminal has direct access for deliveries via 40 foot containers, flat racks and temperature controlled trailers, the company said. Interstate cargo coming from the lower 48 will be consolidated at American Fast Freight, Inc.'s terminal in Anchorage, along with intra-Alaska cargo, and then moved via a number of different options including steamship, barge and ferry into Kodiak.
American Fast Freight, Inc. will deliver cargo across the island via their dedicated fleet of island trucks that will be pulling 40 foot, flat rack and temperature controlled trailers. In addition, American Relocation Services will be able to provide an array of moving needs including household goods moves, commercial and residential moves, military moves via certified movers, complete on-site surveys and complete full service moves. American Relocation Services are members of IAM and AMSA.
The company said with the addition of a terminal to now call home, the new facility will allow it to provide higher quality service and better manage delivery times for the residents and businesses in the city of Kodiak and across the entire island.
"It's an incredible opportunity to be able to service the people of Kodiak and the unique aspects that the island presents," said CEO/President, Steve Day. "American Fast Freight, Inc. has leased a terminal for long term dedication and service to the island, which includes putting a significant effort into providing more reliable world-class service to Kodiak."
In addition to their freight facilities, American Relocation Services will also have its own space within the terminal for their household goods moving and storage facilities.
"For over 30 years we've been providing first class service to the unique regions of Alaska. Alaskans have relied on American Fast Freights, Inc.'s shipping service to keep them supplied with the essentials they need for the challenges of living and working in the Last Frontier," adds Executive Vice President of Business Development/Founder, Tim Jacobson. "Our employees live and work in Kodiak and love the people and culture that the island presents. They are dedicated to providing great customer service to the people of Kodiak."
