Financial Services Expansion Brings 1,000+ Jobs to New Mexico

Fidelity Investments will open a new operations center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, that will create 1,250 new jobs over the next five years. The Massachusetts-based company will construct a new 210,000-square-foot facility in the Mesa del Sol mixed-use district for its Human Resources Services division. Most of the new positions will range in salary from $37,000 to $60,000 per year. Company officials expect to complete construction by the end of the year. During the construction, Fidelity will begin establishing operations in leased space owned by the University of New Mexico, and will pass along more than $2 million to the university for renovations to its Student Success Center. The company plans to hire the first 300 workers in customer and client services within the next 10 months. Financial terms for the investment were not announced.
