KeepTruckin Inc., a transportation technology company, will invest $3.6 million and create approximately 385 skilled jobs over the next three years in Nashville, Tennessee.

Founded in 2013, KeepTruckin established a Nashville office last year. To accommodate its growth the company has moved its operations to 159 4th Ave. N, the annex to downtown Nashville’s L&C Tower. KeepTruckin currently employs approximately 60 Nashville employees. As part of its Nashville expansion, KeepTruckin plans to hire sales representatives, managers and operations personnel.

KeepTruckin, a Google Ventures-backed startup, develops modern fleet management solutions that improve the operational efficiency of fleets and promote safety on the road. In less than five years, KeepTruckin has built the world’s largest network of over 500,000 connected drivers, a significant step in bringing the world’s trucks online to make fleets more efficient and roads safer.

“In the past year we’ve experienced tremendous growth in our Nashville office and we’re proud to deepen our commitment to the city by investing in hiring local talent,” KeepTruckin CEO & Co-Founder Shoaib Makani said. “Nashville’s rapid growth echoes our own, and we welcome the opportunity to diversify the job economy and shape the flourishing startup scene.”

“KeepTruckin’s decision to expand in Nashville speaks volumes about the attractiveness of our city and our business-friendly environment,” Nashville Mayor David Briley said. “This investment will boost our economy and more importantly provide our workers with new opportunities.”

“Tennessee’s central location and business-friendly environment has made the Volunteer State a hub for transportation and logistics companies,” Governor Bill Haslam said. “KeepTruckin is on the forefront of new technology that is transforming the transportation industry, and I’m pleased it has decided to invest and grow its business here in Tennessee. With investments by innovative tech companies like KeepTruckin, Tennessee will lead in the creation of high quality jobs.”

“It’s encouraging to see a highly regarded and fast-growing market leader in the $700 billion dollar transportation industry establish a significant presence here in Middle Tennessee,” Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe said. “KeepTruckin’s nearly 400-job expansion underscores the many advantages Tennessee offers companies: an affordable cost of doing business, low tax environment, growing skilled workforce and unparalleled quality of life. I’d like to thank KeepTruckin for creating hundreds of tremendous job opportunities for residents in Middle Tennessee.”

“TVA and Nashville Electric Service congratulate KeepTruckin on expanding its operations in Nashville,” TVA Senior Vice President of Economic Development John Bradley said. “Helping to foster job growth and investment in the Valley is fundamental to TVA’s mission of service, and we are proud to partner with Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County to help further that mission.”
