Misfits Gaming Group Relocates Headquarters to Boca Raton, Florida
“Thanks to the state of Florida, we’re excited to be opening our headquarters in Boca Raton next year,” said Ben Spoont, CEO and co-founder of Misfits Gaming Group. “Boca Raton will be our base of operations for our global esports teams, as well as our 2 Florida-based franchised esports teams, the Florida Mayhem and Florida Mutineers. Through these local teams, we’ll be running several large-scale esports events in the state throughout the year, in addition to college tournaments and community events. It’s our goal to help grow the esports and gaming communities in Florida. We want to provide a platform for gamers to connect with each other, and give young professionals a path into the industry.”
“Thanks to the support of Governor DeSantis and the Legislature’s pro-business policies, more and more companies are looking to Florida for their business growth needs,” said Jamal Sowell, President & CEO of Enterprise Florida, Inc. “Enterprise Florida is thrilled to welcome Misfits Gaming Group to Palm Beach County and we wish them much success.”
“This is great news for Boca Raton and the state of Florida,” said Executive Director Ken Lawson of the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. “We are proud to be a part of the overwhelming success communities throughout Florida are experiencing as they welcome new businesses that are providing new jobs and opportunities for Floridians.”
“With an average salary of $95,500, Misfits Gaming Group will bring tremendous value to Palm Beach County’s economy. The Business Development Board appreciates the support of Enterprise Florida, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, the City of Boca Raton, and Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners,” said Kelly Smallridge, President and CEO, Business Development Board.
Misfits Gaming Group will consolidate operations from Los Angeles, California, and Berlin, Germany, and establish its new national headquarters location in Palm Beach County. The Business Development Board assisted Misfits Gaming Group by providing access to incentives through the State, County, and City. A QTI tax refund was secured from the state of Florida for $210,000 through Enterprise Florida and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity.
