EZ Portable Buildings Relocates Headquarters-Manufacturing Center To West Paducah, Kentucky

EZ Portable Buildings Inc. plans to invest $1.25 million to relocate its operations center to McCracken County, Kentucky, with plans to create 90 jobs in the region. The firm will move its headquarters and manufacturing operations into a 335,000-square-foot facility at Tyler Mountain Water Building in West Paducah, which will serve clients within a 250 mile radius.

“We here at EZ Portable Buildings Inc. are excited to be coming to Kentucky,” said Trendon Burnett, President of EZ Portable Buildings. “We look forward to being able to employ the people of western Kentucky and provide a high-quality and friendly work environment. We would like to thank the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development and Paducah Economic Development for all of their hard work and support on this project, and we look forward to a lasting and growing relationship with the region.”

EZ Portable Buildings has been manufacturing and selling portable storage buildings since 2013. These customizable wooden structures come in 250 different shapes and sizes. In addition to storage facilities, the company also produces small houses and cabins.

“I want to personally welcome EZ Portable Buildings to the Commonwealth,” said Governor Steve Beshear. “It’s always exciting when a growing company chooses to relocate and brings more jobs to the state. I look forward to seeing EZ Portable Buildings flourish in western Kentucky.”

As an incentive to encourage the investment and job growth in McCracken County, the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority preliminarily approved the company for tax incentives up to $375,000 through the Kentucky Business Investment program. The performance-based incentive allows a company to keep a portion of its investment over the term of the agreement through corporate income tax credits and wage assessments by meeting job and investment targets.

“A great economic development strategy is comprehensive of both recruiting new companies and helping local companies grow and succeed,” said McCracken County Judge-Executive Van Newberry. “EZ Portable Buildings’ location in the old Essex Wire plant is the highest and best use of that property and will create jobs for our citizens.”

“Helping entrepreneurs create manufacturing jobs in McCracken County is what we are all about,” said Chuck Sexton, Director of Paducah Economic Development. “Hopefully, these tax credits will help EZ Portable Buildings succeed and hire more people than they could otherwise.”
