XanEdu To Expand Its Ann Arbor, Michigan, Operations Center
03/19/2014
As part of the expansion, XanEdu is consolidating its Michigan and Kentucky operations into its current Ann Arbor headquarters. Currently, XanEdu has 30 employees in Pittsfield Township.
Ann Arbor SPARK, a non-profit organization that advances the region by supporting business acceleration, attraction and retention, helped XanEdu secure $325,000 in Michigan Business Development Program funds to assist with the consolidation. It also connected XanEdu with hiring and training resources offered through Washtenaw Community College. The company will add management, sales, and IT positions to its workforce.
"As part of its efforts to retain and expand businesses in the region, Ann Arbor SPARK has been proactively meeting with XanEdu in recent years," explained Paul Krutko, Ann Arbor SPARK Preisdent/CEO. "Throughout the course of our retention work with XanEdu, we've connected the company with resources available through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and Washtenaw Community College that have helped it continue to grow in Pittsfield Township, and positioned this region as a natural choice when XanEdu was looking to consolidate its operations into one location where it could achieve its long-term goals. We are excited that XanEdu can tap in to the support available here, and use those resources to create the jobs and investment that will grow our economy."
"When looking for a location to consolidate our operations, Ann Arbor topped the list because we knew we could hire a range of talented employees here to meet our growth needs," said John DeBoer, CEO, XanEdu. "Ann Arbor SPARK helped XanEdu realize that we'd be well-supported in our expansion here, and that we'd be able to confidently call this region our home and headquarters well into the future. It's exciting to know that we will be able to achieve business growth while in Ann Arbor."
