The investment includes the construction of an approximately one-million-square-foot manufacturing facility that will produce components for both conventional and electric vehicles including metal EV battery housing units and plastic exterior parts such as bumpers, grilles, and tailgates.
“Being a global company supporting global OEMs in many countries around the world, Ontario is a very important and exciting new addition to our portfolio of world-class manufacturing facilities. Especially with our Canadian roots, we are very excited to announce this investment and we look forward to the strong support of the local community to help us produce a highly competitive and sustainable operation for the foreseeable future,” William Chin, Chief Strategy Officer at Minth Group said.
The project is being supported by a loan of up to $40 million through the Invest Ontario Fund, subject to reaching a definitive agreement.
“Minth Group’s investment sends a strong signal to the global auto industry that Ontario remains a critical hub for automotive manufacturing. This project is not just about creating meaningful jobs in our economy—it plays an important role in securing Ontario’s auto supply chain. Invest Ontario is partnering with global businesses like Minth to bring in strategic, job-creating investments, which have never been more critical to the province’s long-term prosperity,” noted Khawar Nasim, CEO of Invest Ontario.
Taipei City-based Minth Group is a manufacturer of exterior and structural automotive parts including battery enclosures and body structure components, with a focus on lightweight, intelligent, and modular products for the automotive industry, especially in the new energy vehicle market. “Minth Group’s significant investment in Windsor-Essex, Ont. reinforces our region’s position as a premier destination for advanced automotive manufacturing and next-generation vehicle innovation.
