05/08/2020
“Our team is excited to serve Panasonic in the growing Savannah market and to become an active member of this vibrant community,” shares Elijah Ray, Chief Customer Officer for Sunland.
This second Georgia facility, located less than 10 miles from the Port of Savannah, is a strategic move for Sunland. “We are happy to welcome Sunland Logistics Solutions to Effingham County, and look forward to seeing their operation grow and prosper in our community,” says Troy Smith, Chairman of the Effingham County Industrial Development Authority. “We also want to congratulate our partners at Chesterfield and Stonemont Financial for another great announcement in the Georgia International Trade Center.”
According to company officials this new location in Effingham County will allow Sunland to continue to serve their existing customers through the Port of Savannah, and to further their vision of growing into a great national 3PL provider of supply chain and logistics solutions.
“The Georgia Ports Authority welcomes the addition of service providers such as Sunland Logistics to Savannah,” said GPA Executive Director Griff Lynch. “Their expertise in e-commerce and proximity to the container terminal expands the market of efficient supply chain options for customers at the Port of Savannah.”
Georgia International Trade Center is a $500 million world class industrial park that includes rail service by CSX, direct access to four-lane GA Highway 21, and multiple building options for users.
“Our team is thrilled that Sunland selected GITC as their home in Savannah,” says Chance Raehn, Senior Vice President of Development for Chesterfield. “We look forward to supporting their growth in the market, starting with this lease and continuing as we both expand in GITC.”
Headquartered in Simpsonville, South Carolina, Sunland manages approximately 4 million square feet throughout the Southeast and Midwest of the US, including another 700,000 SF retail operation in McDonough, Georgia.
