Airbus Adds 100 Jobs at Wichita, Kansas Engineering Facility
06/18/2010
"There is a great work force there and quite frankly we are sort of taking advantage of the fact that some other companies in town have been cutting back," said Airbus spokesperson Clay McConnell.
Wichita is home to aircraft makers such as Cessna, Boeing, Spirit AeroSystems, and Bombardier, but some of those companies have been laying off workers.
Airbus has two sites in Wichita, and employed 200 people in the city at the beginning of the year. It plans to add mostly aerospace engineers and a few administrative jobs.
The Wichita engineering site focuses on wing design and repair for Airbus A360, A380, and A330 freighter lines.
