Taiwan-Based Wiwynn Plans Socorro, Texas, Production-Testing Operations
06/09/2025
The company’s new manufacturing and testing facility, located at the Socorro Logistics Center, will include two industrial buildings covering over 866,000 square feet. Operations are scheduled to begin in the first half of 2026.
“This has a lot to do with the location of the city,” said Joseph Hsu, general manager of Wiwynn North America Operations. “This is a very strategic location. It’s near the middle of the country, where you can go east, you can go west, south, and there’s access to the borders."
To support the project the City Council approved a Chapter 380 agreement, offering up to $1.2 million in tax incentives.
“Service to this project would require the design and construction of a dedicated substation,” noted Eric Montgomery, director of economic development at El Paso Electric. “EPE ensures that facilities which are built and dedicated for a specific customer are the financial responsibility of the customer. Infrastructure that is part of a broader electrical system is covered through rates approved by our regulators.”
Wiwynn Corporation specializes in the design, manufacturing, and delivery of cloud infrastructure products, including servers, storage systems, and networking equipment. The company currently operates manufacturing facilities in Taiwan, Mexico and Malaysia.
