Hunting Dearborn, Inc. Plans To Expands Fryeburg, Maine, Manufacturing Center
07/15/2014
The company, which currently employs about 250 associates, is considered an industry leader in deep hole drilling and machining of precision tubular components. To assist with its upcoming expansion, the firm was recently certified for a Maine Department of Economic and Community Development incentive package. Hunting Dearborn’s investment is expected to lead to the creation of up to 60 jobs over the next five years.
“Maine’s economy is continuing to grow, and this expansion is just another example of what is happening across our state,” said Governor Paul R. LePage. “This is what happens when government partners with private industry, creating a business-friendly climate that encourages and appreciates private investment and job creation. Congratulations to Hunting Dearborn. I thank them for choosing to invest in our state and provide more Mainers with good-paying careers and the opportunity to prosper.”
Hunting Dearborn’s Chief Financial Officer Robert Newton spoke about the competitiveness of the DECD incentives. “They were clearly an essential ingredient in our decision to further invest in Maine,” said Newton. “Our interaction with DECD and Governor LePage Account Executive Brian Doyle was seamless and an overall positive experience. We’re hoping to have shovels in the ground sometime later this month.”
