NFI Invests $9.3 Million To Locate Distribution Center In Pennsylvania’s Lehigh County
07/16/2013
“NFI is proud to be a part of this dynamic project,” NFI CEO Sid Brown said. “This investment of time, money, and resources by NFI, Hillwood, and the state of Pennsylvania is a true testament to the value of collaboration between stakeholders and the need for expansion. We're excited to grow with our customers, and to help turn this land into a thriving industrial park.”
NFI is a fully integrated supply chain solutions provider headquartered in Cherry Hill, N.J. Privately held by the Brown family since its inception in 1932, NFI generates more than $1 billion in annual revenue and employs nearly 6,700 associates. NFI owns facilities globally and operates in excess of 20 million square feet of warehouse and distribution space.
"As governor, it is my priority to bring economic prosperity back to Pennsylvania by growing private sector jobs,” Gov. Tom Corbett said. “We are pleased that NFI has continued to expand within the commonwealth, bringing new jobs to Lehigh County and having a positive economic impact on local communities."
NDC received a funding offer from the Department of Community and Economic Development including $126,000 in Job Creation Tax Credits and a $56,700 Guaranteed Free Training grant which will be used to train its new workforce. A $3,150,000 loan from the Machinery and Equipment Loan Fund was also included.
The project was coordinated by the Governor’s Action Team, a group of economic development professionals who work directly with businesses that are considering locating or expanding in Pennsylvania, in collaboration with the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation.
“NFI has decades of experience in distribution logistics and warehousing and is synonymous with reliability in the supply chain process,” said Don Cunningham, LVEDC president and CEO. “This facility, which will distribute a variety of products, will add 126 new jobs and allow for the continued growth of the company here in the Lehigh Valley.”
