Fujifilm Creating 185 New Jobs With South Carolina Expansion

07/23/2009
Fujifilm Manufacturing USA, a subsidiary of Japan-based Fujifilm Corporation, will expand operations at its 500-acre campus in Greenwood, South Carolina, according to state commerce officials. The company plans to add 185 new jobs with the project, which will involve modifications to accommodate new digital print services and fulfillment. "Greenwood offers a number of advantages," says Shin Kataoka, president of Fujifilm Manufacturing USA and head of operations at Greenwood. "Its central location and proximity to raw materials will enhance efficiencies. In addition, Fujifilm is already a well-established corporate citizen in South Carolina and has become a model of sustainability for our company globally. The Greenwood complex is the largest Fujifilm manufacturing operation and largest Fujifilm distribution center in the world. Company officials say the new laboratory space will be in operation by this fall. No information was released regarding Fujifilm's investment or financial incentives offered by state and local governments.
