Talenti Gelato, a producer of gelato and premium ice cream, will make a "significant investment" to open its a new primary production facility in Marietta, Georgia, creating an estimated 100 jobs in the region.

Talenti recently acquired a former Kroger ice cream production facility in Marietta. While it plans to maintain its existing plant in Dallas, it will relocate its primary production headquarters to the Marietta Industrial Park and begin production later this year.

"The country's best-selling gelato will be right at home in one of America's greatest communities, so hello Marietta!", said Bob Burns, Vice President of Operations for Talenti who will be moving to the area to manage the new facility.

While details about the size of Talenti's investment, or whether tax incentives were provided, were not immediately available, Georgia Quick Start, CobbWorks and the state's Department of Economic Development helped form the partnership to attract the firm, along with Cobb County and its chamber, City of Marietta, Electric Cities of Georgia, Chattahoochee Technical College and Cobb Travel and Tourism.

"Food processing is the largest sector of Georgia's manufacturing industry, and Talenti Gelato is a leader in its field," said Chris Cummiskey, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development. "We are pleased the company has chosen to maximize its future success in Georgia's dynamic business environment."

Marietta is honored that this well respected gelato producer now calls Marietta home," said R. Steve Tumlin, Jr., mayor of Marietta. "Their significant investment in Marietta and Cobb County with their accompanying addition of 100 jobs will be an economic boost to our community."

"Talenti produces a high quality product and is a true success story," said Brooks Mathis, Vice President of Economic Development with the Cobb Chamber. "The spirit of teamwork was alive and well throughout this project, with the City of Marietta, CobbWorks, Cobb Chamber and our statewide partners coming together to provide quality service to Talenti. This win will create many jobs in our manufacturing sector and provide Marietta with tremendous investment for years to come. We welcome our friends from Talenti to Cobb County and Marietta!"
