Campbell Soup Expanding in North Carolina

Global food manufacturer Campbell Soup Company will invest $16.3 million to expand its plant in Maxton, North Carolina, according to the North Carolina governor's office. At least 50 new jobs are expected with the project, with an average annual wage of $41,267 plus benefits. The company plans to increase production of ready-to-serve soups and broth at the facility, which currently employs 800 workers. "Maxton is an ideal location for adding ready-to-serve soup and broth production capability due to our highly skilled and dedicated work force and our ability to produce products efficiently," says Mark T. Cacciatore, Campbell's senior director of operations at the Maxton plant. Incentives offered to Campbell include a $150,000 grant from the state.
