Vestas Establishes Wind Turbine Facility in Louisville, Colorado
07/08/2010
The facility will include a new engineering and product development division. Research conducted there will focus on boosting wind turbine efficiency and reducing energy costs. It will also improve technology for existing turbines and develop new wind power systems.
The Louisville City Council approved a 50 percent rebate on Vestas' use taxes, estimated at $650,000. The company will begin retrofitting the facility in September and plans to move into the building by November.
Vestas is investing close to $1 billion to build four manufacturing facilities in Colorado. They include a blade factory in Windsor, a tower factory in Pueblo, and a nacelles assembly and blade factory in Brighton.
