2022 Gold & Silver Shovel Awards Project of the Year: Ford Motor Co. To Turn Out EV Trucks and Batteries in Tennessee

The Blue Oval City development is said to be Tennessee’s biggest investment ever.

Ford’s electric vehicle manufacturing plans are making big headlines in Haywood County, Tennessee. A 4,100-acre site there is where the automaker is planning its Blue Oval City development, a $5.6 billion investment that promises to create nearly 6,000 jobs.

It’s said to be Tennessee’s biggest investment ever and is slated to open in 2025. Land preparation began in early 2022, with formal construction set to begin later in the year. When the plant is operational, workers will turn out electric trucks and EV batteries.
