Watson Metal Masters Invests $4.8 Million Republic, Missouri, Manufacturing Facility
12/06/2013
The company's new facility will include 63,000 square-feet of manufacturing space as well as an additional 4,450 square-feet of corporate offices. The larger campus, which will accommodate the company's 43 existing employees being relocated to Republic, as well as the 77 new employees, will allow Watson Metal Masters to accommodate increased production levels and better serve its rapidly growing client base.
"Watson Metal Masters is Missouri-born and bred, and we owe a large part of our success to the excellent business climate and the superior workforce that you find right here in southwest Missouri," said Bill Schahuber, President and Owner of Watson Metal Masters. "We're eager for the opportunities our location in Republic will bring, and we look forward to future years of growth and success."
Watson Metal Masters designs and fabricates custom stainless steel tanks and vessels for a variety of industries, including food and beverage, health and beauty, and pharmaceuticals. The company serves an international market and manufactures tanks in-house up to 50,000 gallons, and on-site up to 500,000 gallons.
"Manufacturing has long been part of the fabric of Missouri's economy and as Governor I've worked to revitalize this important industry by fostering a business-friendly climate where manufacturers of all sizes can thrive," Gov. Jay Nixon said. "With our unemployment rate at a five-year low, Watson Metal Masters' decision to expand their footprint and create new jobs in southwest Missouri is yet another sign that Missouri manufacturers continue to bolster economic growth in every corner of our state."
"Republic is proud to be the new home to Watson Metal Masters. Adding new jobs to this area will benefit not only our community, but the region as well," said Gail Noggle, Director of Planning & Development for the City of Republic.
To assist Watson Metal Masters with its expansion, the Department of Economic Development and the City of Republic have authorized a strategic economic incentive package that the company can receive if it meets strict job creation and investment criteria.
