The Chamberlain Group Adding Up to 100 Jobs in Elmhurst, Illinois

02/10/2011
The Chamberlain Group, a maker of access-control devices such as garage door openers, is creating up to 100 jobs in Elmhurst, Illinois, in the next four years. The company will invest more than $6 million and receive more than $1 million in state funds to open a 23,000-square-foot Innovation and Design Center (IDC).

"We are thrilled to establish yet another tie to the Elmhurst community, which has been home to The Chamberlain Group headquarters since 1967," said James J. Roberts, CEO of The Chamberlain Group. "The IDC will showcase Chamberlain's position as an industry leader that supports world-class innovation and design. It will demonstrate our commitment to our customers and our employees."

The state's aid package consists of Economic Development for a Growing Economy (EDGE) funds and the Employer Training Investment Program (ETIP). Chamberlain already employs 327 people in Illinois at its world headquarters in Elmhurst and a warehouse in Addison.
