Alliance Precision Plastics Plans Manufacturing Plant in Spindale, North Carolina
02/29/2012
The plant is expected to create 54 jobs during the next three years in Spindale, a city of more than 4,000 residents in the western part of the state. The project was made possible in part by a $48,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.
Gov. Bev Perdue said investments in job training, "and our support for infrastructure and transportation improvements, have built a top notch business climate that continues to attract global corporations, including advanced manufacturers like Alliance Precision Plastics."
"We have been seeking the right opportunity to open a facility in North Carolina," said Rocky Butler, CEO of Alliance Precision Plastics. "The business prospects and economic environment of the area are quite attractive to businesses such as ours."
Based in Rochester, N.Y., the manufacturer primarily produces parts for commercial, industrial and medical companies.
Alliance intends to acquire the assets of Molding Dynamics Inc, an injection molding operation in Spindale, as part of the company's expansion to North Carolina. As part of the acquisition, MDI workers who were recently laid off will have an opportunity to apply for new positions with Alliance, a spokesman for the Governor's office said. Salaries will vary by job function, but the average annual wage for the new jobs will be $28,148 plus benefits.
