06/24/2020
SPM, a privately-held, family-owned business headquartered in Rockwall, Texas, will expand its manufacturing capabilities in Round Rock, Texas, through the lease of 28,000 square feet at Settler’s Crossing Phase 2, Building 3. The planned opening date is August 2020. SPM expects to employ up to thirty employees over the next couple of years with various manufacturing talent to include; engineers, operators, assemblers, and machinists at the new Round Rock location.
“The Austin/Round Rock area makes sense strategically,” said Ed Grand-Lienard, SPM’s president. “It allows us to provide opportunities for our customers in that region, it opens up capacity and room for growth in our Rockwall Headquarters location and will allow the SPM team members great growth potential.”
“Strategically, we desire to be the “supplier partner of choice” to our customers. One of the ways we can accomplish that is providing a local solution to our Austin-based customers,” stated Rob Grand-Lienard, SPM’s CEO. “The expansion gives us the opportunity to serve a new community, in Round Rock, Texas in the same ways we serve the community of Rockwall and the surrounding areas.”
SPM specializes in electro-mechanical assembly, precision metal fabrication, machining, welding, and powder coating. They provide customers in various industries with a variety of products. Founded in 1963, SPM currently operates in a state-of-the-art 140,000 square foot facility in the prominent Rockwall Technology Park.
“Round Rock is the perfect hub for innovative manufacturers such as SPM,” said Jason Ball, the chamber’s president and CEO. “We are thrilled to welcome SPM to our community.”
