AEND Industries to Relocate to Hutto, Texas

07/20/2018
AEND Industries, Inc., a high-end performance, recreational polyurethane wheel manufacturing company, will be moving its headquarters from Huntington Beach, California to Hutto, Texas.

The company produces product for a variety of customers and various consumer niches including skateboard, inline, longboard, quad, scooter, and wheelchair casters. According to city officials the company will build a 19,200 square foot facility at North Town Commons Business Park, located at the southeast corner of FM 1660 North and Limmer Loop.

“This is an exciting time for AEND and marks a milestone for the company, its employees and customers,” said AEND Vice President Tony Gabriele. “Five years ago, we started looking at a number of cities and states. For us, Hutto seemed the perfect fit. Hutto will provide AEND with great opportunities for business growth and a robust quality of life, with an outstanding school system, and a variety of housing options.”

Hutto city officials said AEND chose the City of Hutto for a variety of reasons including; access to workforce and higher education such as Texas State University, University of Texas, and Texas State Technical College located in close proximity, its streamlined permitting process, and an “open for business” culture.

“We are ecstatic to have another company relocate from the west coast,” said City Manager Odis Jones. “Hutto has much to offer for companies to innovate and grow while their employees enjoy a strong sense of community. “ The company committed to hiring at least 40 employees within nine months of beginning operations in Hutto at the beginning of 2019, with an additional 10 employees within five years, officials said.

As an incentive, Hutto Economic Development Corporation Type B provided the company a grant of $175,000, doled out over a five-year period, to reimburse AEND for moving costs associated with relocating to Hutto.

“We are honored to have a proven and family-oriented company such as AEND relocate their business to our growing city,” said Hutto EDC Type B Vice Chair Dan Thornton. “They have been a pleasure to work with and we hope that this will be the start of a very proactive and positive business relationship between AEND and the Hutto EDC Type B for many years to come.”
