Elkhart Plastics Expands Littleton, Colorado, Manufacturing Campus

Quarter-century old Elkhart Plastics will expand its Littleton, Colorado, manufacturing plant, adding up to 20 employees by next summer in Highlands Ranch. The firm’s total addition will encompass 35,000 square feet, including 4,000 square feet of office space and 31,000 square feet devoted to the firm’s manufacturing and warehouse.

"I feel our biggest accomplishment in the last 25 years has been our ability to grow into a world-class organization with the structural disciplines necessary to support the diversified requirements of many Fortune 500 companies, while maintaining the entrepreneurial spirit, enthusiasm and excitement upon which the business was founded. This is evident in the cadre of talented individuals throughout the organization, many of whom have been with us for most of those 25 years. We look forward to adding more members to this team through this plant expansion," said Jeff Giacchino, VP of Western Operations for Elkhart Plastics.

Elkhart Plastics, Inc. will be adding manufacturing positions in areas of production, machine operations, testing, and secondary finishing. These workers will operate new machinery that will be placed in the expanded facility, including a Ferry #370 independent arm rotational molding machine and two five-axis CNC routers. Completion of the expansion is expected in the second quarter of next year at 8257 Blakeland Drive, in unincorporated Douglas County, along the Highway 85 corridor.

According to Metro Denver expansion in Elkhart Plastics' Littleton Plastics plant is part of an overall growth pattern in the company and follows a similar expansion in its South Bend, Indiana plant. The expansions are needed due to increased demand from current customers and anticipated new business.

Elkhart Plastics' Littleton division is working with Douglas County to capitalize on tax incentives for the expansion.
