12/16/2024
In his most recent role, Cross served under House Majority Leader William Lamberth (R-Portland) as Senior Deputy Press Secretary for the 75-member Tennessee House Republican Caucus. Since 2021, he has helped oversee communications strategies, legislative messaging, and public relations initiatives for the caucus. Prior to his public
service in the Tennessee General Assembly, Cross held various media and press roles with Gannett Corporation and Main Street Media of Tennessee.
A Gallatin native, Cross has spent the majority of his personal and professional life in the community. Before graduating from Middle Tennessee State University, he attended Sumner County schools and still resides in Gallatin.
“Josh's history in the community gives him connections and understanding that might take someone else years to build,” said Rosemary Bates, Executive Director of Gallatin Economic Development Agency. “His reporting skills and experience with the legislature are important for quickly navigating the diversity of projects in our o?ce as well as the needs of our existing industries.”
In his new role as special projects director, Cross will oversee key responsibilities, including prospect recruitment, site availability, and grant funding. He will also continue GEDA’s
mission to foster the growth and sustainability of a resilient and diverse economy in Gallatin, working closely with local industries, community partners, and prospective businesses.
“I’m honored to take on this role with the City of Gallatin and serve the community I’ve called home my entire life,” said Cross. “Gallatin is full of opportunities, and I look forward to contributing to its continued growth and prosperity.”
