Douglas Machine Shop Expands Mount Croghan, South Carolina, Plant
02/14/2020
Located at 23630 state Highway 9, Douglas Machine Shop, Inc.'s expansion will add 8,000 square feet to the company's existing building to increase manufacturing capabilities. The expansion is expected to be completed by mid-March.
Established in 1978, family-owned Douglas Machine Shop, Inc. specializes in a variety of services including computer numerical control machining, metal fabrication, welding, laser and plasma cutting, as well as manufacturing custom-made machinery. In addition, the company is also a retailer of hydraulic hoses and fittings; industrial supplies; and stainless steel, aluminum and carbon steel.
"The expansion of Douglas Machine Shop, Inc. has us ecstatic. We've expanded a few times, but we're not only adding square footage, but we also have a five-year plan to broaden the output of services and products. The growth is necessary, not only because we're out of room, but our customers have grown, causing a domino effect. We need additional employees, right now. Our current employees will benefit from the expansion, providing the means for them to grow as well. Douglas Machine Shop, Inc. thanks all who have been with us through the years and believed in our success,” said Douglas Machine Shop, Inc. Owner and President Kenny Douglas.
"Since 1978, Douglas Machine Shop has established itself as an important industry in our community. We are very proud that they are expanding their facility to accommodate their business here in Chesterfield County,” said Chesterfield County Council Chair Al Johnson.
